Pacific Foods rolls out new organic tomato stocks

Published 14 February 2018

Pacific Foods has introduced two new organic tomato stocks, Tomato and Tomato & Red Pepper, in the US to meet consumer demand for plant-based pantry essentials.

The new stocks expand culinary options for vegans, vegetarians and people embracing plant-based foods.

The light, delicate stocks deliver rich tomato taste without the heaviness of a sauce, and enhance any recipe calling for water, bouillon or stock – rice, couscous, curries, pasta, soup and more. Both varieties offer distinct flavor profiles as follows:

Organic Tomato: Vine-ripened tomatoes impart rich umami essence to this unsalted stock

Organic Red Pepper & Tomato: The perfect balance of tart and natural sweetness is enhanced with simple seasonings like sea salt and garlic

Pacific’s products, including its top-selling broths and stocks, reflect shifting cultural attitudes around health, where mainstream adoption of vegan and vegetarian eating habits are at the forefront. The new organic stocks join the brand’s existing lineup of veggie-based cooking staples which includes Vegetable and Mushroom broths.

Pacific Foods senior brand manager Ben Hummel said: “We often hear from our fans that our mushroom variety is the only vegan-friendly alternative to classic vegetable broth. How can that be with so many people now opting to eat plant-based?

“We felt it was up to us to create something new. So we took a cue from our most loved organic soups and cooked up two rich tomato stocks to help home cooks take Meatless Monday, or any day, to the next level.”

Packed in 8 oz. non-BPA cartons, perfectly portioned for one-cup cooking, both the Organic Tomato and Organic Tomato & Red Pepper Stocks are available now at select West Coast natural food retailers and for purchase online at www.pacificfoods.com with a SRP of $2.49 per carton.
